Position Title:  Education Administrator I

Salary Range: $56,971.20-$122,846.40

Position Location: Federal Programs Section, Montgomery

Open Date: May 2024


The Federal Programs section intends to fill one (1) Educator Administrator position.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Providing leadership in the area of 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates and applicable laws.
  • Approving LEA applications, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal laws and guidelines.
  • Supervising staff so that work is monitored and department goals are met with the proper use of counseling, coaching, discipline, appraisal, and other management tools.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting workshops and meetings so that guidance and information are accurate, current, timely, and comprehensive.
  • Overseeing support to LEAs and CBOs to ensure technical assistance is provided, supporting instructional improvements so that areas of improvement are identified.
  • Conducting desk audits, pre-monitoring, and monitoring of recipients of federal funds, to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing utilization of program-specific data to inform decisions leading to improved student outcomes.
  • Establishing and developing partnerships with external agencies to leverage community resources and maximize program effectiveness.
  • Demonstrating professional and collaborative behaviors that represent the ALSDE in a positive light and supports the goal and mission of Federal Programs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor to support the overall mission of Federal Programs.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an approved subject matter or education specialty area.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience and/or education administration experience.
  • School or district-level administrative experience preferred.
