Salary Range: (7680) $50, 253.60-$102,664.80

Position Location: Child Nutrition Program – Montgomery, Alabama

The Child Nutrition Programs of the Alabama State Department of Education intends to employ four (4) Education Specialist I.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Writes/composes letters, memoranda, and reports, using correct content and format on a level appropriate for the designated audience(s).
  • Reads, interprets, and proofs job-related information such as regulations, procedures, and guidelines; then sorts and appropriately files these materials to be retrieved and used as needed.
  • Assists in interviewing prospective clients to determine potential eligibility for the Child Nutrition Programs posing questions to acquire necessary information from the client(s) in a manner that ensures that the client(s) are aware of the steps necessary to make the application.
  • Design forms to collect and evaluate information necessary to meet regulations for applying for participation in the Child Nutrition Programs, by collecting related information on the same form(s) and providing adequate written instructions for clients.
  • Visits, evaluates and monitors through on-site visits, potential and existing sponsors for participation in the Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, while also working independently.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an education specialty area

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching, education administration, or a CNP-related assignment.
