Position Title:  Education Administrator I

Salary Range: $58,111.20 – $125,304.00

Position Location: Instructional Services – Montgomery or Birmingham

The Instructional Services Section of the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) intends to fill one (1) Education Administrator I position.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Provides leadership and technical assistance to the Alabama State Department (ALSDE) committees that annually review Courses of Study (COS) across the state according to departmental policies, such that the stated goals of the project are achieved as evidenced by
    supervisor, feedback, within the specified timeline.
  • Provide oversight and technical assistance for the implementation of the Alabama Courses of Study.
  • Develop, plan, organize and implement professional learning opportunities in partnership with specialists working with students from special populations.
  • Provide instructional support and technical assistance, including instructional coaching support.
  • Assist with LEA root-cause analyses and instructional planning through implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Provide ongoing leadership and technical assistance to local, regional, and state school leaders for the implementation of standards-based instruction, grading, and reporting.
  • Complete SDE correspondence, reports, proposals, administrative documents, etc.
  • Design and write and/or coordinate the designing and writing of ALSDE materials.
  • Assist with Instructional Services partnerships.
  • Completes other projects and assignments as directed by the Program Coordinator of Instructional Services

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved content/subject/instructional support or other education specialty area.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching and/or education. District and/or school leadership experience in curriculum development and implementation required.
