Position Title: Administrative Support Assistant III – Federal Programs

Position Code: 10198

Salary Range: (64) $33,064.80-$55,375.20

Position Location: Federal Programs, Montgomery

Open Date: January 2025


The Federal Programs section intends to fill one (1) Administrative Support Assistant III position. This position will serve as a customer-friendly, first-line responder for Federal Programs, assist with professional learning materials, staff and event initiative documentation with limited travel.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Compose, revise, proofread, and edit letters, reports, forms, memoranda, and other sectional work so that information is accurate, clear, and concise, and timelines are met.
  • Process and maintain confidential matters and calculate numeric information so that contracts, travel forms, and other documents are accurate and require a minimum of rev1s1ons.
  • Maintain current records so that the status of contracts, travel, letters, etc. can be ascertained.
  • Answer the telephone so that calls are answered in a professional, timely, friendly, and courteous manner and referred to the appropriate individuals.
  • Collaborate and assist staff in preparation for workshops, conferences, and meetings to ensure events are well organized, which may include travel.
  • Prepare and assist in preparation of contract claims, travel processing, and other duties to ensure timelines are followed and in accordance with ALSDE guidelines.
  • Demonstrate professional and collaborative behaviors that represent the ALSDE in a positive light and supports the goal and mission of Federal Programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support the overall mission of Federal Programs.

Education:

  • High school diploma or a GED certificate.

Experience:

  • Five ( 5) years of progressively responsible clerical experience.
