Salary Range: $56,971.20 – $122,846.40

Position Location: School Improvement (Regional Positions)

The Office of School Improvement (OSI) intends to fill up to two (2) Education Administrator I position.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Conduct research surrounding evidence-based programs and practices that lead to overall school improvement and provide differentiated support that is centered on those practices to districts and schools identified as low performing as evidenced by ESSA guidelines, the state report card, or supervisor feedback.
  • Work collectively with district and school staff to plan, coordinate, and implement prescriptive strategies to address student achievement issues and reduce achievement gaps.
  • Work directly with schools and districts to set clear and measurable goals for improvement to ensure Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) activities are implemented and monitored.
  • Complete reports and OSI assignments in an accurate and timely fashion and provide ongoing updates on the intervention strategies being implemented at all assigned schools.
  • Use time wisely to ensure that technical assistance visits and monitoring are conducted utilizing current Office of School Improvement protocol and meets the standards of state and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) staff and partners (ARI, RICs, AMSTI, OMI, etc.) to provide high-quality, job-embedded, ongoing professional development, according to data and identified needs, to support school improvement efforts at the school and district levels with minimal supervision and without valid complaint as evidenced by feedback to supervisor or supervisor’s observation.
  • Demonstrate professional and collaborative behaviors that represent the ALSDE in a positive light and supports the goal and mission of the Office of School Improvement.
  • Supervise retired state employees and education specialists as directed by the OSI Coordinator.
  • Serve as region lead to assigned LEAs, coordinating OSI support within and communicating with district leadership to ensure alignment of district vision and goals.
  • Perform additional duties as related to assigned responsibilities and essential functions.

Education:

Experience:

  • Minimum of six years of professional experience in teaching
  • Minimum of six years of professional experience in education administration, preferably in school improvement
  • Supervise employees for a minimum of six years
  • Knowledge and experience in training
  • Computer related skills required – Microsoft Office
