The Federal Programs section intends to fill up to five (5) Retired State Employee positions. These positions will support to LEAs in the administration of Federal Programs.
The individuals in this position will be responsible for assisting district administrators by providing professional development and side-by-side support in their efforts towards grant management. Minimum requirements include experience as a teacher, administrator and/or supervisor at the school and/or district level.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Assist LEAs in completing and submitting grant applications, adhering to federal guidelines.
- Plan, model, and support implementation of best practices for managing federal grant awards.
- Provide targeted assistance to LEAs in one or more of the programs covered under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Provide differentiated coaching support based on the needs of LEAs.
- Provide guidance in conducting a needs assessment, selecting evidence-based interventions, and measuring student outcomes.
- Assist administrators in monitoring the implementation of intervention efforts to improve student outcomes.
- Assist LEAs in preparing for Compliance Monitoring.
- Attend state-level trainings, as appropriate, to stay abreast of federal rules and guidance.
- Keep accurate records documenting level of support.
- Perform additional duties as related to assigned responsibilities and essential functions, which includes, but not limited to, travel.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved subject matter or education specialty area
- Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in education leadership, preferably in federal programs
Other Skills:
- Knowledge of technology-support applications as related to specific job functions (Microsoft applications, for example)
- Strong motivational skills

- Ability to travel overnight, as needed
