Salary Range: $58,111.20 – $125,304.00
Position Location: Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development, Gordon Persons Building, Montgomery

The Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development Section of the Alabama State Department of Education in Montgomery, intends to employ one (1) Education Administrator for Agriculture, Energy and Natural Resources.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Supervise Staff: Oversee the Agriculture and Energy and Natural Resources staff by managing task assignments, supervising work, approving travel and itineraries, evaluating performance, and using time management, organizational skills, and technology to enhance efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Alabama FFA State Advisor: Provide leadership, foster partnerships, support district contests and state convention, train and oversee the State FFA officer leadership team, and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Program Planning: Lead the development and implementation of rigorous programs of study for the Agriculture and Energy and Natural Resources clusters, ensuring delivery of targeted information, achieving desired outcomes, revising equipment lists and facility plans, reviewing relevant program guides and other instructional components that lead to growth.
- Board Participation: Serve on and/or present to agricultural boards, advisory committees, and commodity boards, ensuring secondary CTE agri-science education programs are promoted and supported; collaborate with extension services and maintain liaison with post-secondary institutions and other agencies.
- Oversight of Agri-science Extended School Year Grant: Manage and oversee the Agriscience Education Extended School Year Grant, ensuring compliance, effective use of resources, and timely processing, reporting and submissions.
- Simulated Workplace: Oversee training, implementation, and monitoring across the state, and collaborate with workforce councils and industry to promote Simulated Workplace in Alabama.
- Leadership and Technical Assistance: Provide leadership and extensive technical support to local education agencies in the implementation of high-quality CTE programs.
- Other Projects: Complete other projects, assignments, and duties as directed by the Section Coordinator of Career and Technical Education.
- Travel: Overnight travel required.
Education:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved content area, subject matter, or other education specialty area is required.
- Master’s degree in Agriscience Education is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching and/or education. District and/or school leadership experience required.
